Dude, that is so what i would be doing in Ryou's place. YOu can't just sit by and let someone else take care of you. And yeah, i bet he'll be learning to read in short order.
100% agreement :P Especially for a control freak like Ryou. He'd never be able to lie back and depend on others, even if it wasn't against his philosophy and culture.
Urg, I bet the idea of having to rely on someone else to read will drive poor Ryou's inner control freak quite mad. Trusting people to get things right, yuck! I'm pleased that he's going back to working with numbers, though; who knows what magian fun he'll get up to, completely by accident. ;)
Thoroughly enjoyed the Leyam interactions again. I love Darius and Ryou, but Leyam is always a treat. Oh, and Nico is fabulous - cute little boytoy to the people who don't know Leyam, but is in fact something else entirely (or in addition to?). I love it!
Ryou's only been in Sura a day and he's already asking about taxes, which is awesome. I've never seen a BAMF character raise those particular questions before--the world needs more dimension-hopping accountants ;-) I'd bet ten aureii that in a years time he can read Latin and Greek, and in five he'll have made himself all but essential to the kingdom.
You're evil, Maldoror. Not being able to read, that's downright cruel. You really want him to go out and start talking to people, don't you? As if it was not enough to be in the Outlands and to have finally come out of the closet!
Leyam was sweet in this chapter, in spite of his distorted sense of humour.

Nico is only a bodyguard (and friend); oddly enough, Leyam is almost entirely straight.

Leyam is one of those friends who is hard to put up with at times, but you put up with him anyway because you know he'll come through when it counts.
