A busy two weeks on the writing front (actually, every front). I've finished the next arc - it's fairly short, only three chapters - and I'm working on the one after that. I kind of like the take on adoption in ancient civilizations, because I'm not sure if I agree on the historical accuracy of it, but it is refreshing to not have everything be so innundated with blood ties and the need to have a legitament heir which is prevalent in so many other historically set stories. Leyam's wife is also intriguing because you know she will one day try and poison and kill the king through whatever means possible. Maybe in some roundabout way Ryou will become important enough to need getting rid of.

New Outlands chapter makes me happy. Onto part 2!

Re: adoptions, it depends which culture. Some cultures were very much into bloodlines. But due to infant mortality rate etc, I did read that other cultures used adoption pretty routinely. I take it it was someone frequent in Roman times, to start with.

Vibiana is an interesting character, and I wish I had more inspiration to write more about her ^^; Unfortunately I'm going to be struggling to finish the arcs and chapters I currently have in the lumberyard of my hard disk, so I don't know if I'll ever give her any storyline *sigh*

"My brother is weird, I don't mind saying it, and there's times I know exactly what he's doing and there's times I have no clue. Why keep that one here and not the other?"

Old Saying Darius: Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer.

All the better to keep an eye on her activities, m'dear.

HAHAHAHHA!

Oh yes, I can definitely see that! Someone who won't let him bully them... Leyam HAS to see that as a challenge and an adventure.
