More recs, two manga and a novel. I've just received some more by post...and I've also signed up for LoRTO and NetFlix. There goes the rest of my spare time.
I recommended this to you once, but I'll recommend it again. Dance in the Vampire Bund is an awesome manga, and I think you'd like it. It's full of sly humor, darkness, and fighting. The plot is really quite engaging as well!
(for the record, I also loved Angel Densetsu. Massively. I can't read it without laughing and smiling, to this day)
I'm not sure if you've seen this manga yet but it's pretty good and all of the characters are likable. It's called Kekkaishi. It has fighting and supernatural elements. Also all of the female characters are people that I can relate to and like. It is an ongoing mange and it has over 300 chapters right now. It starts off slow but it gains a plot once the characters are established.
I saw the anime and thought it was great. I particularly liked the way they used their powers, variety and strategy of forming cubes in the air! I'll have to check out the manga.
I've just recently stumbled upon your GW fanfic work, meaning I spent the whole week going through everything and I'm still halfway through The Source of All Things. By the way, The Arrangement was the single best piece of fanfiction I've read in years, hands down. I can't thank you enough for writing it.
I've also just discovered the rewritten version of Freeport, which will be devoured as soon as I get some sleep (has to happen sometime *sighs*) and if you say it's your best, I'll definitely enjoy it very much.
I'm also enjoying the Recs and the rants since what attracted me to fanfiction, mostly slash, was the utter inaneness of female characters in most books I had access to. I can't stomach the weak, male-obsessed female present in both modern media and books, so I'm going to take full advantage of your recommandations.
At least we know you're alive

I found Outlands from TwistedHilarity. There's a lady who hasn't updated recently; I check like twice a day. Something I'm starting to do with you! Love your Outland story, whenever I get impatient with Twisted, I look at her rec list.... anyway, long story short, I think I've read it all maybe five or six times. Something i'll probably do again once you post something new up.
