Happy to hear from you!aenithAugust 9 2017, 05:12:39 UTC
Dear Maldoror,
I found your LJ around 7 years ago, but before I got the courage to post how much I liked any of your stories I read the post that you were not going to be writing anymore. So, I have simply been coming back here a few times every year to read some of my favorites. Imagine my surprise and glee to see that you are looking back at your old work with an eye to preserve it. I will definitely be following anything you post old or (dare I hope) new. I truly love your work, and am thankful that it will be preserved.
Thank you for all of your work over the years bringing your imaginings to life for us here. I am looking forward to seeing your stories' new home.

Aww thanks :) There should certainly be some new posts over on Dreamwidth and eventually AO3, which will not be friendlocked unless I have cause to. People taking the time to reach out to say they enjoyed my stories is one of the main reasons I kept it up for so long the first time, and have prodded my inspiration to coming back to the well again.
Hey, why wouldn't you post The Arrangement? It's a fic that spoiled me for all other GW fanfiction, everything else just seemed lacking. (Especially lacking in Wufei, lol. )
As far as AO3 is concerned, you could post you fics chapter by chapter, every few days, especially Outlands. I imagine the influx and readership of GW fics over there is very low these days, Naruto marginally better so it might not matter, but for Outlands readership it might make a difference. There are circa 70 fics posted/updated daily in the Original Work section and it'd be a shame if Outlands got stuck on page 232 before it gained readership. (Because it really is better than 99% of stuff over there, ahem.)
I do mean to post The Arrangement, as the archives that currently have it are not super phone-reader-friendly. What I was debating was whether to post it As Is, or if I should give it a small face-lift. Nothing major, but the punctuation makes me hang my head in shame whenever I look at it.
I'll be posting Outlands in dribs and drabs, certainly. I'm mainly finishing it for myself and the readers who read it when I first posted it (and egged me on back then), but on the off chance I do pick up new readers, I won't hit them over the head with 40+ chapters right off the bat, it'd send them running to the hills.
Warts? Rough edges? Never noticed them because I was too busy enjoying the ride I was on. I'm pretty sure most of your readers feel the same way :)
Have no fear and post away! AO3's GW offerings are sadly quite lean and weak; it would be glorious to have your fics on them, and who knows, maybe inspire other GW fics :D
Regardless of what you choose, so happy to see you active again!
I would love if you would post Arrangement too ^_^ Also Diplomatic Relations and your One Piece stuff? I don't think there was ever anywhere that had a complete list of your works...

First of all, it should be noted I do not have internet at home. So, I tend to copy and paste things, especially the longer fic, to a Word document so I can (re)read them at home
( ... )
LOL I remember the day I went on to iTunes and listened to as many samples as I could of "Bella Ciao" after reading that chapter of Freeport. Glad I am not the only one, or by the sound of it the worst, bit by the bug to go track down that song.
