So, this is generally why I don't tell people about my relationships.  Because as soon as I do, things go spectacularly wrong and I am left having to explain to everyone that that guy who I thought was so awesome turned out to be....not so awesome.

I'm sorry... that sucks. For what it's worth, he doesn't sound mature enough for you. That is a really immature way to break up with someone. And if he dealt with that by... not dealing with it, he sure as hell isn't going to handle other problems in a mature way. :-( *HUGS*

Malea, I'm so sorry. "You're not popular enough for me" sounds like a tremendously middle-school excuse for a breakup (not to mention that, as you pointed out and as we all know, it simply isn't true). I agree with Liz--he sounds tremendously immature. Big hugs for you.
