How did this happen?

You all know I worked for a social service agency. . .and more often than not I got to assist the most extraordinary families.  Even the one guy whose dad was raising him alone - basically in poverty - it was obvious his dad did everything in his power to make sure his boy was safe, cared for, and healthy.

The article didn't say how old the siblings were. If they were younger it's possible that they didnt know how to come to her aid or may have been too afraid to do so. I was an abused child, and I was terrified of my mother.

But on the rest, I am with you 110%. This is abhorent.
