Merlin finale

Well I've finally watched the 2 part finale of Merlin. I feel like I want to curl in a ball and weep for all eternity. How on earth can this be considered normal? Bawling my face off over a tv show? And yet, here we are. I have no words. :(

I'm not in the fandom myself, but I have several friends who are, and even the most stoic among them had the same exact reaction, so I do not think yours is unusual or freakish. My understanding from what I read was that the ending was powerfully affecting.
