S.T.A.R.

Okay, okay. I should have seen this coming. I really, really should have.

But, here it is- and now I ask OH MY GOODNESS WHAT ON EARTH HAVE I DONE.

S.T.A.R.

Setsuna walked down the streets of the fair city, finally arriving at his destination- a local coffee shop. He entered, sitting down promptly at a table in the corner.

“It is good to see you, Louise.” He offered his girlfriend, sitting down across from her. He smiled- it was always a pleasure to spend time with the outspoken blonde, one of the things he enjoyed most in life-

A beeping noise came from his pocket, interrupting his thoughts.

“What is it, Setsuna?” Louise asked curiously.

Setsuna leapt to his feet, suddenly filled with determination. “I must go!! I am needed!” He announced in a loud, firm voice, before sprinting out of the coffee shop.

--

Tres stood rigidly at his post. Around him, the various customers of Best Buy milled around, absently doing their shopping. His eyes scanned the area around him- all seemed to be functioning at peak efficiency, with no discrepancies.

Something caught his attention off to the right. He zoomed in, using his sensors to further analyze the situation.

“Stop.” He ordered, walking towards the two teenagers rather engaged in playing a video game console. The older teen looked up at him in surprise.

Tres continued. “You have been playing on that console for 15.65 minutes. It is time to give someone else a turn.”

The boy merely stuck his tongue out at the man, turning back to play the game. Tres lifted the boy into the air single-handedly, easily carrying him over.

“Put me down! Put me dowwwn!!!” He whined.

Tres walked to an area designated for reclining leather chairs, placing the boy in one of them. Just as he was going to resume his duties, a beeping noise from his pocket caused a sudden change. “Command acknowledged. Shifting from sales mode to official duty. Acknowledged.” With that, he quickly paced outside of the building.

--

Abel reclined on a park bench, happily enjoying the afternoon. Watching the children frolic around, playing. It helped his nerves, and he couldn’t help but smile warmly. What a wonderful day, indeed!

“Help! Help!” A young girl cried. Abel sat up, looking for the disturbance. Not terribly far away, a little girl stood, looking about in distress. He hurried over to her.

“What is it? Is there anything I can do?” He offered.

She sniffed, still crying. “M-my cat Marbles is stuck in a tree!” She said, pointing to a moderately sized Oak behind her.

His frowned slightly, before smiling down at her. “Don’t worry- I can get your cat down!”

Abel crossed over to the tree. “Crusnik 02- 40%, acknowledged.” Suddenly he was his Crusnik form, with pale skin, claws, and vampire fangs. He climbed up easily to the top of the tree, scooping up the small creature, before easily falling back down. He handed the grey cat back to the girl.

The young girl hugged the cat eagerly, giggling. “Thanks, mister!”

“No problem.” Abel answered, his voice distorted into a demonic sound. But then, a beeping noise from his pocket caught his attention and focus. He quickly went back to his human form, before running off.

“I’m needed!” He exclaimed.

Rukia strolled happily through the woods, the breeze feeling good on her warm skin. There was slight movement on her left, and she curiously looked, only to gasp at what she saw.

A bunny of the purest white, simply sitting peacefully. She carefully began to walk over, slowly and carefully. She was in awe that such a creature was there, and so close! It was so terribly cute, and part of her wondered what it would be like to keep it as a pet.

“Hello.” She offered, smiling pleasantly, a hand outreached towards the creature. To her joy, it hopped over towards her, apparently seeking her attention. She smiled warmly. Such a silly creature! And so trusting, as well. She began to pick up the bunny, hugging it to herself, and giggled.

A beeping noise from her pocket drew the moment to a close, as she quickly put the creature down.

“I must report!!” She exclaimed, setting off in a run.

--
Together, all four of them assembled at the glistening Hallway of Justice, located in the basement of an old bowling alley. The heroes came together, each from separate directions, entering the main conference room. In the center was a large, large circular table, with four seats spread out around it, as well as a large gold star in the center.

The large vid screen that took up a nearby wall buzzed to life as they entered, as the image of an old man appeared. He nodded to each of them in turn. “It is good to see you all.”

“What is the problem?” Setsuna asked, eager to see what is the matter.

“I desire data. Input data. I require data. Request for data. Input data-“ Tres continued on, as Abel spoke over him.

“What is it?”

The graying man on the screen frowned, lacing his fingers on the desk in front of him. “There is a situation down at the Metropolis City Bank. It appears a group of four robbers have broken in, and are holding the people there hostage.”

Rukia nodded, taking in the information. “We will take care of it!”

The man nodded. “I leave this to you all.”

Instantly, they were off- they sprinted out in different directions, going into different areas of the basement. It wasn’t long before they reunited soon after, this time clad in outfits of navy blue with yellow trim, each with a gold star on their chest. They ran as a group, hurrying to the place of there mission. They were the only hope!

--

The bank was a mess, with shards from broken glass littering the floors. Armed men walked about, suspiciously eyeing the terrified people forced to sit against the far wall. “Everyone just relax, and nobody gets hurt.” The leader said, acting as if he was a leader.

“Boss, is this really a good idea?” One of the cronies said. “I mean, what if they call in-“

“Do not speak of them.” The leader interrupted. “We will be finished before that happens!”

“You’ll never get away with this!” Shouted Allelujah, who was tied up along with his fellow hostages.

“Oh yeah? We’ll see about that.” Another burglar chuckled.

The order abruptly broke, as the sound of rapid gunfire filled the air, gunshots flying in rapid succession over the heads of the people inside, blasting holes in plaster, wood, and breaking glass. The criminals dove for cover, while the cries of terror from the innocent hostages filled the air.

Through the smoke, Setsuna leapt high into the air, doing a flip before landing easily on his feet, easily taking out three nearby burglars in the blink of an eye.

Behind him, Abel hoisted Rukia into the air, before throwing her into the fray like a missile. Her sword held at the ready, she landed onto a burglar, taking him out, before throwing a kick into the chest of another.

Abel ran into the building with the intent of doing his part, but managed to trip over a fallen desk. In his fall, he blindly reached out in an attempt to break his fall, accidentally pulling down on the pants of the leader. The pants were pulled down to reveal hairy legs, as well as a pair of brightly colored boxers.

Tres entered, his guns leveled directly at the leader, taking advantage of his moment of distraction. “Freeze. You have lost.”

The leader scowled, before raising his hands into the air, a clear mark of his defeat and surrender. Around him, Setsuna, Abel, and Rukia calmly gathered. Their triumph was clear, their duty done. They had saved the citizens of their fair city, and yet never asked anything for return. It was the duty of S.T.A.R.
