My overseas experience also reinforced the fact that I must be living in a fascist country. Why do other countries get to have political parties and functioning governments while all we get are right-wing fruitcakes

Excellent insights. The dangers of a two party system controlled by the corporate interests of a military industrial complex. I guess that's unchecked capitalism for you. It's no wonder the rest of the world, or at least most it, doesn't appear to like us that much any more. Go figure. I just can't understand why all those other countries would hate a nation, which has appointed itself World Police. Meanwhile, our own infrastructure continues to crumble at an alarming rate, while we spend Billions each week on nation-building. Too bad we can't spend it here, huh? Nation building should begin at home. I think all mainstream news channels are comprised mostly of cartoon characters. I did like Keith Olbermanns recent commentary regarding Rumsfeld, however. Edward R. Murrow would have been proud indeed.
