I wonder if larry remembered to do the allergy alert. If not I guess he can print it when he gets home in a few minutes & put it under the pushke. His has peanut butter in it. Which got a lot of strange looks & funny comments from at least one of the kids there.

I do love to cook but cholent is Larry's area. I don't eat it and I don't like any type of cholent that I've ever had. When we first met Larry's cooking skills were... well... but over time he has become a very good cook. He can even do a number of substitutions when we don't have what he needs.

The cook-off sounded like it was all men (but not by design). We live in an interesting community where many of the men are in charge of some portion of the cooking which you don't see in many orthodox communities. Cholent in our community seems to be like BBQing in the real-world - the MAN's job. LOL.

I'm glad Larry's cooking skills have improved, even if it hasn't meant he's made a cholent you enjoy. Everyone has their own tastes!!!

The cholent cook-off sounds like a lot of fun -- your community sounds like a lot of fun, to be more precise. :) Here's hoping it brings smiles to many! :D
