The truly ridiculous thing is that while evangelical atheism is trying (on the whole) to put an *end* to things like war and corruption in favor of making the world an honestly better place, we have Christians (possibly the same ones who are spreading these emails!) building the "Army of God," the Jesus-Camp folks who really mean it when they say they believe America is a 'Christian Nation.'
Well what can you expect from people who fled an "oppressive" country for the right to be religious crackpots...
I mean, we're talking about the Anglican church here... it's not exactly the Inquisition. I think they were just getting there asses whipped because the clothes looked stupid and if you dedicate your entire life only to serving God, you're nothing more than wasted flesh.
In a subsistance culture, I would certainly get a bit irate at the weirdo people that eat up the food, have too damn many kids, and don't contribute back to the local economy... I know this is a severely contemporary take on the situation, but what the fuck do I care. I can misrepresent their belief if I feel like it.
