There are times that I wish I had just one Republican friend. Just someone I can chat about politics with and not get in an arguement. Not that I think my friends ever tell me I'm wrong or that I ever tell them that they are wrong for thier opinions. I am just sick have having to argue or defend my position is all.

However, I must say that I do ( Read more... )

I don't necessarily identify as Republican, but I do consider myself a conservative leaning libertarian...

Can I ask you what you think of Palin as a VP choice? I would like to hear the opinion of a Republican who is capable of logical thought. (i.e.-Not my dad.)

To be honest I like Palin. True she has said some stupid shit such as the Alaskan Pipeline is mandated by god or something to that effect. But, all politicians have said something stupid. (Al Gore "I invented the internet.") That aside, I look at her and say here is woman who is not afraid of anything. The woman gets up at 4 AM to hunt Moose. She rose from a housewife, to mayor, to governor. The woman truth be told is not currently a Republican, she won the governorship as an independant. She has recently been labled a republican due to her accepting the nomination. I was personally very impressed with her speech at the RNC. She not only took digs at Obama and Biden and the Clintons, (to be expected). But she took a stab at the current president, when she spoke of re shaping the republican party. She really reminds me of the reason I am a republican. I am a republican in the way that Lincoln was, the closest modern being Regan. The party has really fucked itself with this war crap. The republican party stood for a true republic. ( ... )

See, I've read that given the opportunity, she would ban abortions, even for women who were raped. THAT I have a problem with. A big problem.

If she's saying one thing to certain people, and another to others, that's a problem for me, too. You need to be clear on where you stand on these sorts of issues.

It's cool that you disagree...

I just wanted to say thanks for even asking. Not many people ask me what I think like that...

So, thanks...
