No, it's all right.

So you turned into a bird? What kind?

It was of the corvid kind. As I was a bird, myself I do not remember well, nor did I see myself in any mirrors. Perhaps a small raven or a large crow.

I see.

It would appear so. I am ready if he wishes to induct us in some way. I do not know how the forces of human justice conduct themselves.

There are many winged ones even when there isn't a curse.

Birds? Yes, there are many birds...

But, who art thou? I know thee, but I do not know thee. Thou art Jibra'il, but not Jibra'il. As if thou wert some distant relation of hers, something of her sephirah, but not.

I am confused.

Indeed, I am. Shall we use the old names, Uriel? Please, I prefer Gabriel. I am who I am, but not of your world.

That...yes, that would explain it, for thou art of Yesod indeed. Thou art Gabriel, clear as the evening moon.

Is there, then, another me in thy world? What a strange thought..

[I am glad. Though mortals are easily injured, it seems you also recover fast.

As for the Most Beloved of El - His power is greater than mine, but from the same eternal womb were we born. I must say that though we share the same root, our branches are grown far apart.]

[ That is because I do not consider myself a mortal and shall never be so. I am a Psychiccer.

[Forgive then, my misconception. To me all who are not of my kind seem mortal and short-lived.

Once Rosiel was the brightest and fairest of us all, but the long ages and the decay of his mind alone in the highest echelons of Atziluth sent him mad. Alas, only Alex can keep him restrained. I pray I should never lose my mind as he.]

A year and a half in the time of this city, yes.

From such pain and betrayal as I felt thee send out, Rose, mortals surely do not recover so quickly, even those blessed with power such as thine - tell me truthfully, I beg thee, what hath harmed thee so, that thy cries filled the very aether - and what can be done to heal the injury?

Four years in my own world. I haven't told you yet, have I...? I have a daughter now, back home. She's just turned three before I left.
