Author: mallardeer
Pairing: Brittany/Santana
Rating: PG

Summary: Brittany hates when Santana has to leave. Plotless fluff.
Author’s Note: Inspired by this XKCD comic and Zorro saying it sounded like Brittany logic to her.

Santana had fallen asleep wrapped around her girlfriend, content and thinking Brittany was as well. But she woke up a few hours later to find she was in the bed alone. “Britt?” she called groggily, fumbling for the lamp.

She switched it on and found her girlfriend, in just her underwear and a tank top, in the middle of the floor, doing pirouettes. It wasn’t the first time she’d woken up to find Brittany dancing, but this time Brittany didn’t look very happy. “Babe,” she called, her voice scratchy with sleep, “what’re you doing?”

“Turning the earth backwards,” Brittany replied with a grim kind of determination.

“What?” Santana asked blearily, sitting up. She hugged her knees to her chest and watched as Brittany continued to spin in place.

“It’s science,” Brittany said, as an answer.

“What’re you talking about?” Santana prodded, unable not to smile.

“If I spin against the direction the earth rotates, then it won’t turn as fast, and it’ll make the night last longer, and you won’t have to go away again so soon.” Brittany faltered just a little in her pirouette, and Santana reached for her.

“Come back to bed, babe. You can’t make the night last longer,” she urged gently.

“I can,” Brittany insisted, and Santana could hear the tears in her voice. “I can. And I don’t want you to go away again,” she said, gritting her teeth.

“Brittany,” Santana said softly, getting to her feet. “It’s only for two more months, you know. And then I’ll be done with school, and I’ll be out here again, and I’ll never leave.”

But Brittany kept pirouetting, albeit not as gracefully as before, and Santana carefully approached her. “Come to bed,” she said again, putting her arms out.

Brittany looked at her, faltered again, and then practically crashed into her arms. “Babe,” Santana laughed, pulling them both onto the bed.

“I got dizzy,” Brittany mumbled, hiding her face in Santana’s neck.

Santana chuckled fondly and kissed Brittany’s hair. “How long were you doing that?”

“I dunno, half an hour. I woke up, and you were asleep-you’re so beautiful when you’re asleep, Santana-and I just… I don’t want you to go.”

“I don’t want to go either,” Santana promised, and she shifted so she could gently kiss away the other girl’s tears. “But it’ll be the last time, okay?”

“Okay,” Brittany sniffed, and she cuddled more closely to Santana. “Can we stay up until I have to take you to the airport?"

"Yeah, Britt," Santana replied, blinking back her own tears. "Yeah. Whatever you want.”
