You know, I've been told that people can sometimes exchange memories for something else with the 'deities'.

It's a little bit distressing.

It is, indeed. Although at least it seems a voluntary surrendering of those memories.

I don't intend to take them up on that offer.

Well, even then...what if that's the memory that makes you...compassionate? Or what if it's the one that reminds you how important your family is, or was?

I don't know if people can see the consequences of losing a memory.
