Title: Nine Lives Side Story
Pairings: Kyumin, Zhoumin
Rating: Pg-13
Summary: (of this side story) Sungmin was reluctant for this date, after all he was kidnapped by Kyuhyun! Will Kyuhyun prove to Sungmin he can be a good person, or will this 'date' turn sour?
"Are you done looking, or should I take off my shirt and start changing all over again?" the snarky younger teased without even glancing at Sungmin. Sungmin frowned and stomped over to the front door, he almost had his hand on the doorknob when he felt Kyuhyun's arm snake around his middle. Sungmin felt a shiver go up and down his spine when Kyuhyun put his face next to Sungmin's ear. "So what do you want to do? We have the whole day after all." Unable to listen to anything else Kyuhyun had to say, Sungmin flailed his arms to get away and ran to the motorcycle.
"Just....take me to the park please." He said quietly. Kyuhyun shrugged his shoulders and started the engine for the park.
Sungmin gritted his teeth as he held onto Kyuhyun's arm for support. These motorcycle trips are really making his legs numb. If it wasn't for Kyuhyun, Sungmin would probably be spending the next five minutes on the ground waiting for feeling to come back into his legs. When he was finally able to stand on his own, Sungmin took in the park scenery. He gazed up at the towering trees and sighed. The park looked exactly like he left it three years ago. Three years ago when Zhou Mi had left him, Sungmin's first boyfriend.
"If only Zhou Mi was still here...." Sungmin started.
"Did you say something, hyung?" Kyuhun chirped up. Sungmin craned his neck to see the younger with his hands stuffed in his pockets, giddy as a school girl. It almost broke his heart doing so, but Sungmin put on a fake smile.
"I was wondering if the vendor over there sells coffee.” Sungmin pointed to the vendor handing out orders to people. Sungmin knew that the vendor didn’t sell coffee, but he needed to spend this nostalgia by himself. Not with a stranger, especially a stranger like Kyuhyun. In a flash, Kyuhyun was jogging down the sidewalk, while Sungmin sat down on the bench behind him. This was the spot wasn’t it? The spot where Zhou Mi told Sungmin they had to break up. The spot where Sungmin cried, cursed, and tried to leave. Sungmin squeezed his eyes as the memory flooded his mind. He was about to leave the park behind, leave Zhou Mi behind. He wanted Zhou Mi to be in pain, to feel the pain that Sungmin was feeling, but Zhou Mi stopped him. And Zhou Mi hugged Sungmin so hard that he couldn’t breathe.
“I’m moving back to china.”
Those words were the last straw. Sungmin backed out of Zhou Mi’s embrace, face bright red and his eyes were streaming with tears. He couldn’t say goodbye, he didn’t know how to, he didn’t want to. And now his first love was being ripped out from his life.
Sungmin’s nose twitched at a familiar scent, persuading Sungmin to open his eyes. In front of him stood Kyuhyun, holding a cup of apple cider with, could it be; pumpkin spice? Greedily, Sungmin snatched the cup from a laughing Kyuhyun and gulped down as much of the beverage as he could. When he finished, Sungmin looked to Kyuhyun in astonishment.
“How did you know this was my favorite drink?” He asked skeptically. Kyuhyun grinned and put a finger to his lips.
“A magician never reveals his secrets.” Sungmin frowned and rolled his eyes.
“__-sshi told you, didn’t she?” he accused. Kyuhyun feigned an exaggerated injury to his chest, making Sungmin giggle a bit.
“So you do laugh at my jokes!” Kyuhyun smiled, Sungmin quickly pulled his mouth into a straight line, but when Kyuhyun tried to do another impersonation; Sungmin found himself laughing out loud again. Kyuhyun finally stopped the jokes and looked across the path. “Hey hyung, can I ask you a personal question?” Sungmin nodded. “Do you have any interest in me at all? Because if I don’t have a shot, then just tell me.” Sungmin stared at Kyuhyun; who didn’t look at Sungmin, and rubbed the back of his neck.
“I think you have a shot. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be leaving first. My house is only a little ways away. I ask of you to bring my uniform to me tomorrow. Thanks for the apple cider.” Sungmin smiled sadly at Kyuhyun before leaving him and the park behind. Just like it was with Zhou Mi, he was too afraid to stay with them.
