Summary: It’s your first day at a new school, in a country you’ve only heard about in History class. Can you really fit in this place when you’re only an “American”?
"___-sshi, ___-sshi!" you heard your mother distantly calling after you. With a groan, you grabbed the pillow and shoved it over your head. Why did this have to happen? You did something for Heechul, and he never did anything for you. You sighed into the bed sheets, your relationship was nothing but give and take. That what it was.
As you tried to fall into a deep sleep with the pillow still over your head, you could hear soft thumps up the stairs, but despite the thumps getting closer to your door, you tried to relax your mind and fall asleep.
then, a small scream pierces through the muting pillow and you screw your eyes shut.
You didn't want to go to school today, not if it means going to class with Heechul. If only your mother shared this mindset.
The blankets quickly disappeared and with a smack of another pillow in you head, it was your signal to high tail it out of there.
Begrudgingly you stalked up to school, hoping that none of your friends were here to talk. None of them did anything wrong, but since things became sensitive with Sungmin and Heechul, therefore making things awkward with Zhou Mi, Kyuhyun, and Siwon, there aren't many people you'd look forward to talk to. You could see a group of familiar faces you dreaded; Donghae, Eunhyuk(practically climbing on top of each other), Shingdong, Kibum, and Hangeng. At first instinct, you quickly duck behind a large tree to look at them from afar.
"Training to be a Bond's girl, __-ssi?" you heard a voice from behind that you didn't recognize. When you turned around, your face was only a few inches from another student in your class. Taecyon, Taeybum? Why was it so hard to remember his name? Either way, you tried not to breathe too hard as the boy looked you up and down, his almond eyes flaring with something you were unaccustomed with. He stepped back and smiled invitingly at you, offering a handshake. As you gingerly accepted his offer, you took in the scene before you. He had the sides of his hair shorn, with designs in the sides, his ears had silver crosses dangling from both, and you could see a ring of words tattoo on his neck peeking just above his collar. The boy shrug his jacket a little bit higher and what you hoped was a habit, brushed off his sleeves and jumped a little. What was this guy, an American gangster? You nodded politely and tried to leave, but he glided past you and leaned against the tree, blocking you.
"Come on, you don't really want to go to class, do you?" the boy smirked. The clear cut of his tenor voice was like a knife and you stared dumbfoundedly. This could not be happening. You laughed rudely in his face and shoved your way past him.
"Excuse me please, I need to get to class." This happened once with Heechul, you are NOT going through the same incident with someone you didn't even know. You could hear the guy following you, and so before the bell could ring, you quickened your pace and rushed to homeroom as soon as possible.
For once, you actually made the bell, and with a thump, you plopped your tired butt into your desk. Baby-face (you could care less what his real name was) gave you a small wave and you waved back, then pulled out the materials needed for class. You eyed Siwon across from the classroom as he was writing something down in his notebook. Zhou Mi was peering over Siwon's shoulder, occasionally laughing at something Siwon wrote. You had to admit, the scene was a perfect gay couple, and apparently the other girls in the class thought so as well. Jessica was sitting next to Taeyon and a few other girls, they were obviously whispering about the new SiMi going on, pointing over to them and looking at the two. You watched the group of fangirls with amusement until they pointed in a new direction. You followed their gaze and felt uneasy when you saw Sungmin's normally perky face strewn into a (still cute) frown and his chocolate eyes smouldering with a silent fury. You shifted in your seat and hoping Sungmin didnt noticed you were staring, you lifted your notebook just above your nose and peered over the top to spy on him.
"He's been like that since Zhou Mi joined Siwon." Baby face said to you, surprised he actually could speak you set down your book, give Sungmin one more uneasy look and then turn your attention fully to Baby face.
"Have you been here all morning?" he nodded.
"I'm part of the student council, though really I help assist He--" a loud bang of the doors cut him off and the attention of the room was now turned to Heechul.
"Always making a scene." you breathed quietly. Baby face must have heard you though, because after you said that he grinned and went back to his studies. Heechul's eyes were darting around the room, probably looking for you.
Your guess couldn't have been more right. Once Heechul saw you he rushed to your desk and grabbed you roughly by the wrist.
"Yah! That hurts!" you wince and try to pull away, but Heechul's grip only hardens.
"You know what else hurts? Hearing your girlfriend tell you she doesn't care what you have to say. Ring any bells?" he hissed at you. You stopped resisting for a split second, he was right. But who on earth would every tell Kim Heechul he's right? You resuming struggling, and everytime his grip gets worse. Until there's another hand, and you see Heechul on the floor, pushed into another desk. Scared, relieved, and surprised, you dared to look up and saw the Gangster from earlier this morning, a white bandanna wrapped around like a headband this time, and his eyes with cold hard steel. As Heechul struggled to get back up with help from a startled Zhou Mi and Siwon, the Gangster folded his arms and looked down at Heechul.
"That isn't anyway to treat a woman." he said in english. If not for the severity at the situation you would have laughed, hearing such a thick accent mess up the 't's in all of his words. Heechul glowered at the Gangster, then barked back.
"You stay out of this Taeyang." His pride was obviously wounded when Siwon asked Heechul if he was ok, Heechul mumbled a form of "I'm fine." and surprisingly backed down.
As if it was never going to arrive, the bell finally rung and the adrenaline of a possible fight quickly dissapated. Boom strolled in fluidly and before writing the lesson plan on the board, overlooked the classroom. Then with the radar he seemed to be gifted with, Boom eyed specifically 'Taeyang' and Heechul.
"Did the world blow up or something while I was gone?" he joked with a fake smile. Heechul just snorted and looked the other way, while Taeyang decidedly look at you. Feeling the red forming in the tips of your ears, you grab your notebook and pretend to be reading, feeling anxious under the pressure of his gaze.
This will be a long day.
