I actually have three favourites that compete for the top spot. They are:
Beauty and the Beast (Gary Trousdale & Kirk Wise, 1991)

I'm still floored by how wonderful this movie is. I never get tired of it. I can't wait for Disney to wise up and go back to making films of this caliber.
The Best Years Of Our Lives (William Wyler, 1946)

This is an oldy, but a goody. It's a bit on the long side, but it has such a great emotional pay-off if you stick with it. I dare you to try not to get teary at the end. The end of Best Years always gives me such a good feeling for hours afterwards. I like watching it at Christmas for this reason.
Bonnie and Clyde (Arthur Penn, 1967)

Bonnie and Clyde is what made me want to study film. I saw it on TV when I was in high school, and I was hooked. I remember getting the DVD, and watching it over, and over, and over, until I knew it by heart.
