Heavens! Well well, now now.
FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS! Albert, my boy! A word.
SECOND ORDER OF BUSINESS! Would anyone care to tell me who this mysterious "ANI" could be, possibly? Or perhaps that winged woman some of you met with? Gracious, I am so curious I could burst!
THIRD ORDER OF BUSINESS! ...ahhh, this isn't really business, I just

First order of business. I'm flattered, Sir Catherine.

I have the information you need, though I'm afraid I can't send you a list of names. We're still running probabilities on them.

[It's somewhat disappointing about the names, though.] Not even a few names? Would those who were drafted before be excluded?

Oh yes-! I should provide you with the map. [A detailed map will appear on the nearest flat surface to Albert.]

[And there are a few moments of silence as Albert goes over the map.] Mountainous terrain, rivers, valleys. A description of the environment and measurement of the given altitude markers?
Reply
The environment is what's known as Sirry Crags! I believe it was once was a resort before this reality tore itself, then it was abandoned. There are a few rest stops along Lir Cannigon and...oh dear, I didn't mark those. Just a moment my boy... [Some markers appear on the map.] The green markings are rest stops; two along Lir Cannigon, two along Levi Creek and one at the spring of Darron River.
Darron River is unique in that it runs along the summit of one of the crags, as I'm sure you've noticed; it suddenly disappears just north of one of the occupied areas-
Oh yes! Those sections of violet are areas occupied by the cult, that we know of for certain.
Sirry Crags has been stripped of color due to either the assimilation of a colorless world or a long-lasting Shift. Everything is in black and white, to the average eye. Let's see, what else...
-Oh yes! The measurements are in feet.
Reply
These "rest stops" -- are these drop-off points created by your people, like our initial point in Desset? Will they be at our immediate disposal? Or are these controlled patrol outposts for the cultists?
Are there any other man-made structures on the rivers and creeks? Bridges, dams?
[And he scrutinizes the map as he churns through different ideas and plans.] Darron River flows north by northwest with the drop in altitude. How deep and wide across is it? Is this lake its only outsource?
Reply
The rest stops are actually made by the original inhabitants of this world, not the Organization! They're little more than empty buildings though. I imagine you can use them to your liking so long as they aren't occupied, but they shouldn't be. In fact, I encourage you to check them; there could be survivors hiding there.
No bridges or dams that I recall; they weren't necessary.
Darron River, let me see...Ah yes! It ranges anywhere from three to twenty feet deep; most of it is rather deep, considering its path across the mountain. A lot of sheer drops into the water, so I wouldn't count on wading into it. There are places easily passed, but most often it's between thirty to fifty feet in width. It's rather structured! I have to wonder if it was man-made, though I wouldn't leave out a Shifted erosion...
Reply
So there is no snow at that elevation? I presume the river's source is some sort of glacier, then?
Reply
There is no snow, but it's very peculiar; the river doesn't have any identifiable source! No spring, nothing! I'm betting its reality was Shifted into existence.
Reply
These are stable Shifts though, correct? You would let us know if a battlefield contained unstable Shifts.
Reply
Oh yes, it wouldn't be open to the public if it were unstable. It's been constant for quite a few decades now.

[He drums his fingers contemplatively.] An approximate number of cultists in the area? How long would it take to travel across these mountains without transportation?
Reply
Hmmm, I believe the number was in the ballpark of four hundred? Don't quote me on that, we're still getting our reconnaissance in!
As for how long, I think I'll have to split you all up into teams split up for that very purpose. I know there are some individuals that take no time at all to cross rocky terrain while others would struggle with it. It would take several days at the very least to cross from one end of the barrier to another; for an average human, that is.

An approximate number is better than nothing. Do remember to give us a more accurate number when you announce the full draft.
[He again drums his fingers as he listens.] Yes, that had been my concern as well. What is this about splitting the draftees into teams?
