[Locked To Residents Only]

Goodness, this is certainly quite a mess. All this fighting! It's a good thing these things are all quite harmless and incapable of killing or this would have got nasty quite quick. Well, I suppose that's what I get for attending other things, aha. Now I know how the Great One felt when I bungled one of his Shifts when I was a young lad. In any ( Read more... )

[Unfortunately his grief started when his brother went home. This only compacted the issue. What was she thinking? Doing this on her own when she's still learning? What kind of idiot...]

Let this be a lesson to you. You never should've been doing that on your own. People could have been seriously injured.

[Later to Bil:]

Tell me more about this new program. Is this replacing the draft?

[ ... it's strange. She came here to apologize ... well expecting to be admonished and condescended to. But does that mean she should justify herself? Or take her knocks, like a good little girl, and shut up? ]

... it w-w-w-was an assignment. I d-d-d-did not just "decide" t-t-to do th-th-th-this o-o-on my own. Wh-Wh-Wh-Why w-w-would I r-risk the s-s-s-safety of a-a-a-all the r-r-residents s-s-so c-c-c-c-carelessly? [ Dammit, her stutter keeps getting worse when she replies to these people. But she's glad at least of the bite to her tone. ]

[She should have expected not everybody would be happy, even with an apology.

Of course she was assigned.]

That's what it sounded like. That you had decided to do it yourself. Then you and Bil need to learn from this mistake.

You believe that loss was intentional?

[...Ok, the disturbing thing is, Kain almost things "losing as a strategy" is a very good type of strategy. One must lose some battles to win wars tactically. But no one had planned it that way this time.]

Well it does seem plausible enough, don't you think? You've never lost before.

Or rather, I mean, the entire village has never lost. Not you personally. I'm afraid you've lost quite frequently.

[He switches to the video function briefly JUST so he can glare for a moment.]

[Then back to writing.]

Nor was THAT on purpose.

...The villagers coordinated their efforts to some extent, but none ever suggested losing as a strategy.

[Not that it's a bad one, still. Damn it he does not want to agree on anything with you.]

[Now what was that for, Kain? Goodness.]

Well, I suppose it was quite clever of you all to lose without planning, then.

[Because he can't make his point when he's this bruised.]

Molly,

I've made a mess of things with that place that have genuinely surprised the more technologically savvy villagers. Of which I most certainly am not one.

No one was seriously hurt. If I had any intention of setting foot in that place again, which for the abovementioned reason I don't, I'd be quite excited. Please try not to make the same mistakes again.

[...] Getting a look at other worlds was fascinating. As far as experiments or mistakes go? I've lived through worse.

[ She has to go find a writing utensil for this. She wasn't expecting any of the residents to write back. ]

It is my job to be technologically savvy. You don't need to provide a comparison to make me feel better.

Still, I appreciate your kindness. I will try my best.

[ ...... ] I am glad that - some of you were able to get something good out of this.
