You are all terribly distrustful. That's good.

So that you're working with an informed opinion however, this was the work of neither myself nor the Organization.

Invaders trying to get us out of here is becoming quite a trend. For you and your people, what is Luceti's political significance?

What "my people?" There's just little old me over here.

But you're able to see what's going on outside our little bubble. They're your people in the more general "us and not-us" sense.

That depends on what bubble you're standing in. I have no people.

And I hadn't even put up my opinion yet, either. [Talk about mistrustful]

But if it were as easy as this letter claims it is, someone- [Read: Hermione herself] -would have figured out how to do it already, wouldn't you think? Or at least the discovery would have been known. I don't know anyone who could keep a secret that well. [Liar.]

Sorry kiddo.

Really? Because I know plenty who would. Think about the leverage; discovering the means to truly return home.

My own opinion being that it's a trap of sorts.

I suppose. [Mostly she's kind of miffed that if this thing does exist, then she wasn't the one to discover it.] I only wish we could be certain.

Good evening, madam. Nice to hear from you again.

It's interesting to see how quick they are to believe you after being so convinced this was the doing of the Organization. They take your self-given title for what it is and don't linger on whether you may have conflicts of interest.

I'm sure.

I have no interest, and thus no conflicts. I enjoy plain and simple fact, Mr. Silverberg.

It's simple to say; it's quite another thing to believe. You speak to us more frequently now. You're becoming invested.

Yeah, I like you kids a little bit. But I've liked people before and seen them sacrificed. This wouldn't be too different.

I'm not the one working myself to death.

Why would I do something like that?

Why indeed.

They want information? They'll get information. There's no point dancing around topics already introduced. Though...whoever did this is good. You don't have any ideas, do you?

What will become of those who have died in their world should they choose to take this offer?

Reply

[Private] malnosso November 25 2009, 02:03:27 UTC
They'll go back to being dead, I assume. So long as the offer is genuine.

As I thought... and if we are to find some other way to return to our worlds, would it be possible to bring someone from another world with us?

That's...tricky. I wouldn't recommend trying it.
