I never knew the answer to this.

If you go out to eat with a large group of friends and the receipt already has the "added 15% gratuity" on it, do you have to pay an extra, out of pocket tip? Is it socially acceptable to not leave a tip if the service was horrid in set meal?

Just wondering cause of an experience the other night.

if it has the gratuity added in already I only leave extra if the service was outstanding and they deserved more
