Maybe it's just me, but it seems like every second or third time I come back to look at my Friends Page, LJ is letting me view fewer and fewer entries. I remember that not that long ago I could review 150+ entries. Now I'm down to 25. I don't have time to stop in every day. I can barely manage once a week ( Read more... )

If you use firefox you can block the entire ad frame with the adblock plus extension. I don't actually see any ads anymore.

I run Firefox at home but unfortunately I'm usually looking at it from work using IE with restricted access so I can't change any settings (dialup at home, broadband at work :).

What form do the ads take? Are they just banners at the top of the page or are they scattered throughout the page?

I think you can choose, but mine are banners along the top and bottom. You can switch to it and switch back anyway.

Anyway, if Buggy or Zappo are on your friends list, they have Plus accounts (I'm positive Buggy does; I think Zappo does). They're little text ads down the sides like you'd see from Google or something. I don't really notice them at all. It just looks like the standard web clutter we've all gotten used to, and you filter it out the same way. And that's on IE. :p

I don't know what the problem with viewing is. Are they time-limited, maybe, and the old ones have "expired" as you've had less time to read? I know when I miss a day or two, I can go back several days on mine, which is usually around a hundred posts or so.

Nah, my friends list is pretty short, mainly coz I don't have time to keep up with everyone :(

Basic accounts only let you review the last 25 entries on your friends page whereas the Plus account gives 200.

According to the LJ FAQs everyone except paid account holders will see ads on posts by Plus account holders, but I've never seen one.
