Weird Day is Weird

Feb 26, 2012 01:51

Today was supposed to be AWESOME.  It was supposed to ROCK.  Apparently, it didn't get the memo until late.  You see my plans were to visit the seamstress to get a quote on having my bridesmaid's dress made for my best friend Amy's wedding in July, then I was going to look at a room to rent that I really wanted, and then I was going to work for 4 ( Read more... )

OK, that with the lady and the car WAS weird. Now, of course, you must post a picture of yourself (in your car) so that we can decide what it is that makes you so terrifying ;P

YIPPEE for finding a room, though :) That's awesome news. I'm so glad you'll be able to save money and that it will be convenient for work and school.

I am so going to find 7 Zwerge and watch it. Sounds like it's absolutely my cup of tea ;D

Well, if you add this pic of me in my car from a few years ago ( http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y126/Malruniel11/Peeps%20and%20Pets/Thellie%20pics/ThelliebeforemeetingMike.jpg ) to this pic of me a few years ago with hair the same red I just dyed it last night ( http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y126/Malruniel11/Peeps%20and%20Pets/DSCN3765.jpg ) and imagine the hair shorter (just above the shoulder) with lots of layers, and now parted on the right side, you'll have what I looked like today.

I'm so excited! Moving in with friends, people who are respectful, responsible, and clean, too!

I think you would LOVE the movie. It is subtitled (as foreign movies tend to be), but I love subtitled movies.

OMG NO WONDER SHE FLED!!!

Haha ;D I honestly don't know what her problem was, really. You look very friendly! And you have a lovely smile and eyes - if we were looking for a housemate, you would definitely be someone we would pick :)

I love subtitled movies too. Plus I can understand German so I'd be fine (M, on the other hand, can't, so he'd need the subtitles!). I remember talking to a video shop attendant about a movie we were renting, and she said, 'You know it has subtitles, right?' and I said, 'Uh, yeah, that's fine. Why, do you get people complaining?' Apparently they do. Because, you know. When you watch a movie, it would be just so.much.effort to have to READ! LOL

Aww! Thank you!

When Pan's Labyrinth came out just about everyone I knew was complaining because they didn't expect a Spanish movie of a Spanish story filmed in Spain with Spanish actors to be made in *shock and awe* SPANISH!!! And here I just thought that made the most sense...

When I was younger, my brother and I fought constantly over the tv. Whenever it was on, I wanted the Closed Captioning on so I could read *AND* watch tv at the same time!! BEST OF BOTH WORLDS!!

I cannot wait to move in with them!!

Yeah, I really think that it was because of my size. It's something that's supposed to be illegal, but I deal with that form of discrimination all the time. I hope that's not triggering for you. I figure that if they want to miss out on knowing me (or making money off of me), that's their loss. I'm freaking awesome, no matter what.

And God's timing is perfect! I'm so glad I didn't try to force another living situation to work, and waited for the right one instead.

What really bothers me, is that kids are taught improperly about nutrition and health. As a nanny and a sitter, I get constantly told by kids (who are innocently trying to connect information they've been taught into reality) that I'm fat because I eat too much junk food. Umm... no, kid. And it's rude to say something like that. And parents, quit scaring your kids away from junk food with lies like "if you eat that, you're going to get fat." You're lying to your kid, and your teaching them poorly. Teach them what is healthy and how it will help their body. Teach them that ANY FOOD in excess is not healthy. Teach them that treats (including junk food) are treats to be used sparingly. Teach them that people come in all shapes and sizes because God loves everyone just how they are. Teach them that we should love the person, and not what "people" say we should be attracted to in physical features ( ... )

Wow. There are not even words for that weirdo who ran away from you.

Except: thank God she ran away, because obviously she's too weird for you. (I mean, really?!!!!!)

And I have encountered some nasty specialists like that seamstress. Don't be put off. There are some really amusing YELP reviews of a cobbler in Kensington, CA who won't cobble your shoes if your shoes came from a discount store and who will lecture you on proper care of your shoes/leather items for twenty minutes before letting you pay for your stuff. I was going to get some of my shoes fixed by him, but after calling him I realized he was a little too intense for me. Some people are like that.

Yay for the new place and the low rent!!!! <3

Really, really.

I've encountered it more times than I can count. People are... people. Ugh.

Want to come help me pack?

Some people are stinky jerks. I'm just glad the stinkiness was upfront rather than over months and months. It's worse when people pretend to be nice when they're really just lousy. *gives meaningful look*

I'm happy to help you pack!!! :-D

I read this earlier but I was on my phone and really can't respond from there. HOLY FREAKINGM &^%$%^!! It sounds as if you took both the seamstress and the potential roommate with a lot more grace than I would have! "The sight of you terrified me"?? I'd have flipped out. Or gone home and cried. I'm so ecstatic for you that your friends are looking for a roommate now and you'll be in a wonderful and affordable place where you are LOVED!

Have you considered a dress from www.seasonmall.com? Some of them are just stunningly beautiful and they'll make any style for any measurements.

It has to be made with the fabric from Bari Jay. That's the hang up from ordering from another company.

And yeah... crazy lady was crazy. I'll take being with friends and in a safe, clean, loving environment ANY DAY!!!
