Rating: PG13.
Characters: Eunhyuk, Kibum.
Genre: Oneshot.
Author Notes: First actually done oneshot in a long time. I'm not all that happy with it, because I think I could have done better, but oh well. I'm writing again and I'm happy about that, so I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. :)

Hyukjae had a hidden talent. Something, he'd never shown or even talked about with the other members. No, dancing, everybody knew he was good at that. This, this was something he wanted to keep to himself, his own special little thing. Since he'd debuted with the other members he hadn't had a lot of time to himself to even touch, much less practice with a violin. But late at night, when everyone was asleep, he'd sneak out once in a while.

At the SM building, guards were always around, but they knew Hyukjae and he was easily let in. His heart was thumping a bit harder from excitement against his chest as his feet carried him through corridors and staircases to their usual dance practice room. He held his breath as he opened the door to a pitch black room and turned on the lights, briefly glancing around before he closed the door behind him.

Over by one of the corners, there was a small room for bags and smaller accessories that the members would leave there if they needed them when they were practicing - Hyukjae, however, left something a bit more important there.

He pushed aside some of the bags and dug out a bit larger, grey sportsbag and held onto it gingerly as if it would break if he gripped it too hard. Zipping it open, a broad, gum-filled smile broke onto his lips as he once again laid eyes on a beautiful mahogany violin inside the dark bag. He pulled it out and let his fingers caress the wood carefully, examining it as if it was some kind of ancient relic.

Standing up from his position, he quietly closed his eyes and positioned the violin beneath his chin, gently laying the the bow upon the strings.

Softly, as if a gentle summer rain drizzled upon the land, a beautiful sound was produced and filled the room with its vibrance. Another note, and then another was played gently and full of emotion as the sounds filled the practice room; Hyukjae slowly losing himself to the music and his own little world. In some way, playing the violin was an escape for him from everyday life. When he felt the violin vibrate between his fingers, it gave him a feeling of calmness and sincerity.

When the sound of the door opening reached his ears, he didn't stop playing - yet, he kept on playing a soft and slow, almost sad sounding melody. He always knew that someone had been following him when he snuck out at night and hadn't been too bothered by it, since that someone had kept this little secret to themselves.

As his song ended slowly, Hyukjae exhaled and let the violin drop from his chin and shoulder as he opened his eyes and glanced towards the door. There was only a small crack present, but the lighting made the intruder quite clear behind the door. The ginger haired singer laughed a bit and put the violin back in place between his chin and his shoulder as he murmured, "You can come inside if you want, Kibum ah."

A few seconds passed before the door opened a bit more and Kibum's dark form emerged, that 1000 watt smile present on his lips. "How long have you known?" Hyukjae shrugged and drew the bow over the strings once more, producing a soft, yet piercing tone. "Since probably the third or fourth time I snuck out."

Kibum nodded a bit and drew his hoodie from his head and made his way over towards his hyung. "Why haven't you told us you know how to play the violin? I'm sure Henry would be thrilled." He said with a grin, setting himself upon the dance floor. Once again, Hyukjae shrugged and glanced towards Kibum with a smile. "Why haven't you told Jungsoo ah that you sneak out at night to follow me around?"

"Good point." Kibum laughed and supported himself against the dance floor, his head tilting a bit as he glanced up at his hyung. "Play some more."

Nodding, Hyukjae obeyed and gently let the bow run over the strings, once again producing a soft and powerful tone that filled the room. Hyukjae knew he wasn't able to keep this ability secret forever, but for now, he enjoyed the present. Simply being here with one of his dongsaengs who seemed to enjoy his skill.

And it was moments like these that Hyukjae played the violin for.
