One room a day. Okay, one room a week. I've seen your place.
Find someone who will haul away the trash. Throw things out.
If you have to think more than ten seconds about the worth of an item then throw it away.
You'll feel so much better once the house is cleaned.

Fair enough, good advice. I at least have a friend with a pickup to haul stuff to the dump with once we get serious.

My girlfriend and I just moved in together for the first time ever and we're having the same problem. To make matters worse, we still have a roommate living with us, who lived in this apartment before us, so we always feel like we're taking up his space with all of our crap. Consequentially, every single thing either of us has ever owned is in our tiny bedroom. May I suggest investing in the "Space Bags" that you may have seen on TV? They actually do work (although they work better if you sit on them and let the air out that way, not if you vacuum them like you're supposed to) and they've alrdady made a difference on our space.

I'm all for videos of you playing the ukulele too!

Thanks for the tip on the space bags. I'll keep that in mind. For now, I at least have the luxury of a storage barn to keep excess items in...I just have to put the excess items into storage boxes (or bags) and drag them out. :)
