Crock Pot Cooking

My crock pot has spent the better part of its residence with me in the closet and unused.  Well, today, I have decided to make a chicken stew in the pot.  Needless to say, I put the ingredients in the pot later than intended.  So I have boosted the temp to high instead of low.  I am not sure about how to adjust the time, so we shall see if this ( Read more... )

Thanks. I turned it off. The only thing is that I probably should have browned the chicken first.

I love crock pot meals. It makes great "winter food" -- with things like stews and stuff pot roasts and stuff like that. I have done what you've done -- put things on high when I got them in late. Most times it works, but there are a few ingredients where it may be more difficult. Carrotts seem to take forever in a crock pot - not sure why.

I hope it turns out well. I tend to use my crock pot quite a bit. There have been times I have started something later than planned, but so far I have never had any problems other than the meal being later than planned.
