I had a customer who said that the "happy holidays" thing was because of "minorities". Implying something that I am unable to articulate because he wasn't exactly clear. When I mentioned that I celebrate yule, not Christmas--in other words to tell him that there are other things celebrate that aren't common and can't be put down to a "minority" thing--he changed his tune as though he didn't want to offend me. Well then why the fuck did you even mention it in the first place?
Christmas and Easter really were only ways of the Church to convert the pagan people of the Medieval ages.
I also just read an article about pastors and other supporters wagging a "war" against retailers for making Christmas materialistic and non-Christian. Mainly because the church attendees didn't listen anymore to the message of "Christmas". Shouldn't that say to the pastors and the like to try just a bit harder with their groups and not wage war against retailers??
