I probably should have written about this before, but it's been very emotional for all of us.

It sounds like your father-in-law was very much loved by those who knew him. A moving service.

i was blown away by the eulogies -- i never met your father-in-law but he was clearly an incredible person

OMG. The High School of Music and Art? Did he teach there after it moved to Lincoln Center? Baker's a pretty common name, I never made the connection... and I never had him as a teacher, being a woodwind player who wasn't good enough to be in one of the upper-level bands.

I am so glad that the people who cared about him got out to the funeral.

Yes - he taught there until he retired in 1989. Short,dark-haired man with a smile. :)
