What a fantastic pediatrician you have! I love her views on the iron issue. I tend to agree that our bodies were designed to be breastfed for a long time, and what many doctors see as an iron "deficiency" at a certain age is probably often just the way the body is designed to work (barring any unusual circumstances like lethargy, etc.).

Exactly. She basically thinks that since babies survived for thousands of years before we started checking for iron deficiency, this is just another way for science to prove that it knows best. And we all know that isn't always true!

Hooray for Tommy! I really like her take on the iron issue too. Sounds like you have yourself an AWESOME pediatrician!

We are really fortunate. I mean, yeah, we have to wait longer at her office than some of our friends do, but it's so worth it. She sits and talks to me about anything for as long as it takes for me to be comfortable, and she's totally supportive of natural parenting issues. What more could we ask for?

I can't believe how big he is myself. Isn't it crazy that all of our AMJ babies are getting ready to turn one? Unbelieveable!
