I had an excellent interview with the current Children's Director and Early Childhood Director. They are both so sweet, and really had a lot of things to say. The direction that they see the ministry going is right up my alley. We talked about our families, our husbands and children, how to balance life in general...it was really great ( Read more... )

What about daycare for T? Can you bring him w/ you? If so, is it at a reduced rate?

Well, daycare depends on whether I am offered a f/t or a p/t position. If it's part-time, then I can just have him in the church's preschool program, which is offered for 12 months and up on Tuesday/Thursday. I'm pretty sure from what they have said that it would be at a greatly reduced rate. But if not, it's only $150/month, so we could swing, it, ya know? If they offer me a f/t position, I'd need to find childcare for him at least on Mon/Wed. Fridays, the office is only open until noon, and I probably wouldn't have to be in at all. I think the only one who really works Fridays is the secretary. But, if we start a playgroup thing on Mondays and Fridays, Thomas wouldn't have to be in daycare except for the second half of those days, cause I'd bring him to playgroup with me. And, we'd enroll him in a preschool that's really close by so that I can go nurse him at lunch and put him down for his naps. I think it could really be the best of both worlds (esp the p/t gig).

Seriously, J, this sounds like an amazing opportunity. I really wish we went to your church! I wish our church had kids' programs like you are thinking of offering. I am praying for you and hoping that a viable situation presents itself for taking care of Tommy!

Thanks, Sarah! It really does look like an awesome opportunity, and I'm sure that if I am offered the job that we will find something that benefits both Thomas and me. We're just making sure that we are leaving ourselves open to God's plan. Thanks for the prayers!

I really hope this works out for you - it sounds like you would really shine in this church position -- they'll be very lucky to have you! And Thomas will be a happy baby to have a happy mommy! :)

This is what I keep having to tell myself! That if I am happy at what I am doing, then Thomas will be happy as well. I mean, no one wants a stressed-out-cause-she-hates-her-job mom, right?
