Actually, I've been wondering--one of my other friends recently cleaned out her friends list, also deleting folk who haven't posted in ages. I'm not certain I follow this logic--if they don't post, they aren't cluttering up your friends page with stuff you don't want to read as you page down to the interesting bits, so why bother deleting them?

A sense of tidiness. If you're not in the kitchen, is the mess bothering you? Why clean it now? (Yes, I know why, but for some of us, this is the same.
