1. i just bought our new dell computer for $1300. i missed out on the $150 mail-in rebate and free shipping, but they are now offering a free (if cheap) digital camera and a free 1024MG RAM upgrade. we still have $300 left to buy a nice digital camera...any recommendations

Carlos' friend Beth moved to Anchorage and adores it. she always brings back fantastic pictures of moose in her yard and stuff. She had gone for 1 year to teach and has been there 3, and just bought a house!

supposedly, housing is quite affordable and, this is the best part, each alaska resident is paid a stipend of something like $1500 a year to live in the state. so as a family of three, we could have a nice chunk of change for a downpayment in a few years of living there.

1. Yay for new computers! I think Canon has a nice 3 meg camera that does small video with sound for around $300.

thanks...that's a nice little camera. i like the small size. it has really good reviews on bizrate and is under $300. nice. i'd like to make a trip down to denver to actually hold the camera in my hands before buying, but that just seems like so much work!
