What's the scoop on intrawest? I recognize the name...I think they run Whistler?

you're right. it's a candian company that owns several big ski resorts. they recently bought out winter park. intead of providing jobs for the community and retail opportunities for local businesses, as they had promised, they are planning on bringing in all their own retail to the new "base village" they are creating at the ski area and have fired several very long-time employees and hired mostly foreign seasonal workers for the minimal new jobs that they have created. they also put a cap on health-care this season, offering insurance only to employees who had banked enough seasons or total hours. even though k qualified for that, they hiked the rates so high that we are no longer able to afford it and are now uninsured. i'm sure you can see now why i hate them!
