He would never look upon her the same. He knew her now, her indifference to good or evil, her capacity for betrayal, whether it be the ardor of innocent youth or grasping of basest greed. He saw her now through jaded eyes, how she played with men and stole their hearts, casting them aside along with their ships, leaving them shattered in her watery depths. A fickle lover, she knew no bonds of plighted troth, no fidelity to long devotion. She guarded her secrets with jealous strength, coveted treasures within her watery gates.
She was Calypso. She was the Sea.
