****

He was fire, and flame. Heat and passion. Wielding hammer to anvil, shaping, forming, hardening under clever hands. Sweat and strength and radiant heat.

He was heat and fire. Not this. Not water and rain, cold and wet. It was all wrong. The phoenix rises from the flames, not the ocean depths.

Yet here he was, reborn of the sea. He who represented earth and fire, now embodied water and wind.

A paradox. And yet not. Without air, there can be no fire. And iron, transformed and tempered by fire, acquires its inherent hardness through the quenching action of water.
