“Thus this great Fire of the core, the Fire which has no limits, for it is within and without all limits, ever the same, pure, clear, untrammeled, unconfined, therefore above all, understanding all, this is the Divine Fire, the pure celestial dewdrop in the opened lotus of man's soul, the only treasure which keeps the soul ever fresh and golden and like unto one of the immortal gods.”

Will first learned magic at the feet of his Master. Pumping billows, stoking fire, hauling charcoal and water, the daily life of a blacksmith’s apprentice was all work with little play. Yet young Will Turner did not lament his lack of leisure, for he found fascination enough in the fire of the forge.
With the Iron Age came the advent of modern Magic. The Smith’s art, the original alchemy, was a secret they harboured for years. This ability to transform iron into steel, forge weapons, separated Smith’s from the other Artisans of their day, for Smith’s were more than that. They were the true magicians, harnessing forces of nature in their command, the Masters of Fire.
And so it was that the magic was Will‘s to hold: fire transforming iron from a dull, lifeless state into an elegant, functional piece of art. The rhythm of his hammer, the flow of the iron, and the experience of steel bending beneath his hands took him on a mythical journey that never extinguished.
For Will, the mystifying flame he found hiding in the smithy was only the natural extension of his path. After all, he’d been trained to understand Jack all his life.
