This has been a hard holiday season for us. Melissa dying on Thanksgiving, this whole health issue with me (although it most likely will not turn out to be anything bad), and now my grandma is on her death bed. I'm pretty sure she hasn't actually passed yet, because my mom would call me right away, but she is on the verge and is ready to go. I'm ( Read more... )

I remember talking with my Great Aunt Helen before she passed. She could only flutter her lashes and quietly clear her throat. It was surreal to know she was going to be with the Lord. It was what gave me hope but I balled like a baby, anyway. What a holy time.

God be with you and your family.

Thank you :) My grandma has actually not passed yet, although I know she is ready too. I think it's in her genes for her body to be stubborn and not let go. Her mom lived to be just shy of 100. If that's one thing I've learned recently, is that death is NEVER predictable!

Yeah, I got to speak with grandma too. It's weird, because she's so sharp and aware on the phone, just really tired. She asked me how I was doing, etc, and we chatted for a few minutes. I was sort of joking with her about some stuff a little bit. It was definitely hard to say goodbye though. It almost seems like she might be recovering, but even if she recovers from this, it seems like she's on a slow gradual downward spiral.

I told her I'd try to visit her on Sunday or Monday for a bit.

I'm sure your health issues will turn out to be nothing.

I hear that Anja gets to babysit a hamster!
