My ability to cope with Zeke is based upon the fact that he wasn't shot down in some rich man's safari in Africa, but was actually allowed to live out his life, albeit in a zoo, until he grew too sick to keep going....A bit of a rationalization, but since I'm stuck with Zeke, we're all stuck with my lame rationalizations.
One of the things about marrying into a hunting family that I've had to grow accustomed to.
There are also elk steaks in my freezer at the moment. Sigh. Comfort myself with the thought that that elk had a better chance of getting away than the cows typically do.

PS- I actually saw Zebrahead, back in the day....Michael Rappaport(sp?) movie, isn't it?
I know, if I think about it too much I get a little creeped out...But no point in my being a hypocrite about it, I like a steak on my dinner plate from time to time- and a burger on the lunch plate...And leather shoes.

There was a movie in the early 90s called "Zebrahead."
