It's been fairly quiet in our world lately.  My mother received the ok to go on disability retirement, though she won't receive her first check until December.  My sister is in some form of medical trade school, and apparently doing well.  My father is still in remission.

My husband's family seems fairly fine, except for the excess ( Read more... )

(hugs), wish there was a way to convince Z that you are in desperate need of a break and then we could meet halfway and spend the day! Seriously, I can't imagine how hard it is dealing with a special needs child when your husband doesn't want to believe that it is real. Sleep apnea is no joke! Jeff has it and I made him go for the sleep study. He is so much better with the CPAP machine. He has more energy and more importantly he is able to focus better and he has more patience. Z needs to let you go for it.

It's a shame that his family won't help you out more too. But listen to me. This is nothing new or anything that you haven't heard before. Sorry.

I am sorry about the rabbits. We started with one 12 gallon fishtank and now we have four of varying sizes. The smallest being 16 I think. We do freshwater. Much fun to watch.

Hope the rest of your summer is better.

Lol! I have a 10 set up in the master bedroom, and a 40 waiting to go up. The hardest part is finding a stand that won't fall apart on me in two years.

What did you put your tanks on?

The little ones in the kids' rooms are on wooden office cabinets. Jeff's Dad sells office furniture and every now and then he would get dinged stuff that he couldn't sell and he gave it to us. The tank in our room, the 75 is on a wooden aquarium stand that came with the tank when we bought it from a friend. The little one in the dining room is on a wooden/metal stand that we've actually had since 2000.

I have a 40 g waiting, and I'd love to put it on a piece of furniture that I have in the garage. It looks like it was once a part of a kitchen cabinet, but was replaced. Very vintage, and very cool.

I would need to put a stronger top on it, and maybe brace the center. I really love it, and have been looking for a way to repurpose it since we bought the house. I'm just not positive about it. Any ideas on how to be sure it's up to the task?

Looks like it's real wood, and is built about as well as the store bought particle board/MDF cabinets you buy today. I wish there was a way to test it, you know? Without having 40 gallons of water on the floor!

And spending the day out and about would be fabulous.

I read about your book deal going forward. That's good stuff! Congratulations!

Does sound cool but I have no idea how to test it. Maybe ask at Home Depot?
