Cosentino's is a local foodie joint that started as a vegetable stand in the 40s, and by the time I moved up to Santa Clara in 1997, had three stores. The one in Santa Clara was sold 2 years ago, and as of the 18th, the one in Silver Creek/Evergreen neighborhood will be sold.  Only the Bascom store will remain ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear that it's closing. On the other paw, Win-Co has reared its head up here. I'm ambivalent about it.

It's always a shame when stores like that shut down--stores where you actually like shopping and don't find it a chore.

it's like the San Jose I remembered before it became so gosh darn BIG. I remember when 101 was full of stop signs and Frontier Village.

Silver Creek to me is like a hidden nook where yes, large houses dare to tread, but there are nice places to walk and relax.
