Yesterday, for the first time in my life, I was accused of plagiarism. Honestly, WTF? My professor's basis for assuming I had bought or stolen my paper was the use of the phrases "...from antebellum splendor into and industrialized state of mediocrity," and "... withering to a state of irreparibility." Sounds like a great paper. It's sad when a first reaction is to think the worst of people. Good for you, going to the Dean's Office. How'd it go?

The prof. apologized and it was let go, more or less. I made a pointed statement about her assuming the worst in people, and assuming that her students are uncreative at best and incapable at worst of producing decent writing. There are only three more days of the class though, so I will put up with her.I think she feels marred if not really bad about the situation.
