Sam was poking around the Mansion, kind of idly. He was half looking for Gabrielle, for a painting lesson. He was half looking for someone with a problem he can fix, or someone new to talk to

"Looking for something?" Livia asked, coming across him in his poking-around.

[mancalledspade]

"Hey, sweetheart. Nothing in particular. What've you been up to?"

[revmother_livia]

"Nothing in particular," she echoed with a shrug. "Things have been surprisingly dull in the madhouse."

[mancalledspade]

"You're tellin' me. It's almost passing for normal, these days." He sounds less enthusiastic about this than he might, though if she didn't know him as well, she might mistake it for simple detachment.

Gabrielle had set up her table in the main room once again, and was carefully gluing a scene painted on ivory to a silk fan.

"Hey there, angel. How's tricks?"

[rareradiance]

Gabrielle looked up from her work long enough to smile. "I am very well, thank you. I assume that is what you mean to ask?"

"That's it, yeah. Glad to hear it."
