Train Ridin'

I have to ride the train to work. It's not that bad... I get to wear headphones and read. Sometimes I just people-watch, a wholly unappreciated way of passing time. When I'm really bored, I play a game where I try to make people to do something, like scratch their ear or scream obscenities at the top of their lungs, but using only my imagined ( Read more... )

just don't be one of these people that stand in the middle carrying big bags that whap the people around them in the head when you take a corner ;)

Taking the spirit of olyve_joi into mind, she would tell you the next time to approach that person across from you, if not even for idle conversation. It may actually satiate you with satisfaction to just be able to approach and be approached ... without expectations (though it doesn't hurt to dream ... like how hard you would like to bang her head against her own bed post)
If I weren't such a hermit, I'd take her advice.

I actually like observing social rules in action, like the whole "not interacting on the train" situation. The opportunity for mischief is high when people are trying so hard to be anonymous... I think I'm going to make efforts to be the person no one wants sitting next to them on the train. My first goal is to happily plop down next to my first victim and pelt them with tales of my cat's adventures. That guarantees that they think I'm either "special" or totally insane, and that they will exhibit physical manifestions of being uncomfortable near me.
