i've got some pictures coming up here from my recent foray into vienna. most of them are of food. cause the food was incredible. one word: sacher torte

oh, and i got some jeans that make everyone around me that much happier. i believe some of you are familiar with the phrase 'painted on'? yes. it's marvelous.

so i'm in vienna now on the coin operated internet in the hostel. this place is crazy. if you ever want to party long, hard, and very very loudly i suggest coming to wombat's. so far everyone speaks english better than i do and even the beggers switched languages so that i could understand their grievances ( Read more... )

well, lukas didn't manage to bring back a sweet russian fur hat BUT in typical lukas style he brought me back a pack of 'russian star' cigarettes (the irony, i hope, is intentional). the box looks like it deserves to be in a mueseum and apparently cost about 1 american dollar ( Read more... )

so the girls from my hostel in madrid sent me back a picture of them since we forget to take one together while we were out. it came back labeled with their names as well. very kind since i can't speak or remember anything spanish (i blame the jews). but these were some faaantastic ladies. they're back studying in barcelona now.

always wanted to go there (ever since reading world according to garp that is) so it looks like on the 8th-11th i'll be in vienna, austria.
i'll be staying at the wombat's city hostel.

i am completely and utterly in love with the bar/coffee house 'big hands' here in manchester. if you ever come to manchester i suggest you devote an hour to purely lounging around by the jukebox with a hot coffee or pint of krombacher. well, only if you like good music.
