Ah, yes. They've been suppressed. It's, well, ah, a bit disconcerting. And although I might be wrong, I... think it has something to do with the bracelets we've had put upon us.

[He's not sure how technology can cause such a reaction, but nothing is impossible.]

I do not think it wise to try! It will not come off by simply moving or pulling, and somehow I think that there might be precautions for those who dare remove them. I'm afraid I do not have my father's talents with technology, so I have little in the way of ability to safely remove it.

Ah, most likely! I think that perhaps it would become much like, what were they called again, a taser? You might pass out from the shock, if you were to try harder.
