I'm not quite certain if it's "good" yet, Raven. I'm waiting to see what strings come attached to it. But, yes, it is a pleasant one.

There probably are some. It doesn't seem like this place does anything without strings attached.

I would be shocked if there wasn't any. [ She shakes her head. ] How have you been?

I've been fine, I guess. [As good as they can be here, she thinks.] I found a job yesterday.

You did? [ That reminds her, she'll most likely need some kind of practice of her own. ] Doing what?

Selling books and stationery and that kind of stuff? It's a little shop in the Venetian district.

[ A fond smile touches her face. ] Everyone needs to start somewhere, Raven. Even if it's selling stationery.

I think it will be easier than being a waitress. I did that at home.

I'd agree. In waitressing, you have to deal with picky customers.

Yeah, I think people who'll be going to a bookstore are generally going to be nicer.

Unless they are die-hard fans who want first editions of everything.

I think they'll have to learn they can't get everything they want.
