If it please you... [for nothing pleased her. Nothing provided either solace or warmth. She's listless when she addresses him, and so very detached. She's still a mess, not bothering to really have done anything save find the communicator, and undo the rest of her hair.
It's a mess, such an utter mess and it's such a struggle to find words, to make sense of anything, not with so much death on her mind. She bites her lip for a moment, trying to clear it.] ... It would please me also.
I just wanted to bring my people peace there's been so much blood. Now I have killed a queen and brought war on my people. What is victory when it comes with such a price...? [She closed her eyes for a second, just to swallow down on the feeling when it threatened to overwhelm her again.]
It's more then I deserve, my lord. [she just felt ill, and so very weak. For so many things, to be toyed with by fate again.] As you are want, I will not press you. [Usually she would tease, demand almost mockingly, but she lacked the energy to even try.]
[ When one travels with the Doctor, it was only natural for a companion (when not human), to learn about the human race. But because of her dedication as a student in the Academy, Romana had made sure to study up as many alien races as possible, one of them being the creatures that live on Earth. While she had not visited that era in time she was familiar with the history of numerous human leaders from there and one of those being Queen Elizabeth. But as any Time Lord or Lady knows, it is never good to mess with the time streams. The past is not to know of the future and the future forbidden from re-writing the past. This was as good as an example as any. Romana waited to respond and when she did she didn't pull up the video function but instead settled on voice. ]
[Tony'd be the first person in line to admit that he doesn't know how to handle other people's emotions - he always said the wrong thing or didn't know what to do. This is exactly one of those situations he didn't know how to deal with, but this was Elizabeth. He couldn't just leave her to scream at herself without at least checking if she was okay. If she was anything like him, she wouldn't appreciate the gesture at all.]
Lizzie? Hey. I've got a bottle of scotch with your name on it. How about it?
Oh darling, it's a good thing you have me here. I'll be over soon as I can, just sit tight. I've found that drowning my sorrows is a very effective coping technique and I'm only too happy to share it with you.
[Clint knows something of this. All too well, actually. He was the one who had to bring his brother down, the one given the order to take out a rogue agent. His superior would have sent someone else, but only he could do it, and his brother deserved that respect. He's somber as he watches, the feelings hitting all too close to home.]
It never gets easier. [His voice is low, at first.] You think you're doing what's right at the time, and slowly and slowly it'll eat away at your insides until all you feel is regret.
I ought to be happy, I am going to win a great victory. [She's not sure who she's talking to, but it hardly matters. It's hardly a secret. She'd gone to the library, she'd found the books. There were so many with just her name on it.
And now she knew why.] I knew... I knew it couldn't go on like it was. She's the next in line. My sister nearly killed me for just that.

But as it stands, she just responds tiredly, murmuring softly, and her voice is still hoarse.]
Hello, my lady. I do not think I know you. [that's as far as she can function for the time being.]

We've never met before, but I do know of you, Lady Elizabeth.

[and she privately wished they didn't, she wished none of this ever happened and she was some country nobility that no one ever noted for anything.]
Can I help you?

How did it ever come to have my name on it, when I do not know what it is? [she's trying, however much it is in vain.]
