Even if he was a stranger, you still trust people here without them having to prove anything to you. They can change them whenever they want. What if next time it happens they kill you?

[She's back at her school by now, she refused to take any more time off. If she stopped to think about the last week, it would become inevitably worse. TO stop and lick her wounds too much. She couldn't stand that, so she'd thrown herself back at it.

Selina's message made her pause though, setting down her pen -- and then very quietly replying.]

If anything, you're just like me in this situation. Betrayed by what we think we could have: trust. This city isn't going to give us the luxury of peace or happiness. For all the saving we're supposed to do, they seem content with just messing with our lives.

I'm not going to let them do that anymore.
