[It's December-- early December but still December-- so Darcy is in full-on holiday mode. She's made a list of presents to get for her friends, those closest to her

[Loki was out of decent food that kept well out of storage, i.e, canned things, bread and jerkey. Tree living was hard okay.
He had been roaming the halls of the grocery store, having run away from all offered protective custody those he knew tried to drag him into to go back to his place in the forest, still wanting to be free. It was warm in here, not that he even minded the cold, and it gave him time to just look at all the different foods this area had to offer.
As usual, the godling was too busy paying attention to the interesting foods to notice a cart he was about to walk into until it was far too late and he walked smack into it, a few snack cakes falling out of his overflowing hand basket when it was jostled.] Man... Please don't be smushed and gross now...
[Leaning down, he gathered up his snacks into the basket again before looking to see who he had bumped into this time...] Lady Darcy!
[Darcy was humming along with the Christmas-time muzak playing over the grocery store speakers. She stood in the spices aisle, looking at the different cake flavorings, trying to decide which were best for festive baked goods. There was an eggnog flavoring, cinnamon, peppermint. Those seemed like the best, most Christmas-y flavors. Darcy moved down the shelving a little, looking for others. She paid little attention to the person walking in the aisle, until she noticed her cart move towards her by itself.
At the young voice complaining, Darcy lifted her head, looking to the side. Her mouth broke into a grin.] Little dude! [She stepped towards him, giving the little guy a squeeze around his shoulders. She noticed his basket full of snack cakes.] That's some grocery list, Little dude.
[She doesn't say his name, not yet. It still hurts to think of one of her best friends not being in Mandalus anymore.]
[Loki gave a small squeak at the squeeze, trying to return the sort-of hug without dropping everything he had already picked up. Glancing into his basket, a light pink hue came to his cheeks and a small laugh escaped him.] I have other things in my basket, honest.
[Pausing, the little god picked up on Darcy's reluctance to call him by name. He could understand it, in fact, it still hurt him when he thought about his older self.] Serrure... You can call me Serrure...
[She steps back, chuckling softly.] Buried beneath the Mt. Everest of sugary goodness?
[Darcy swallows hard, nodding at his words. She listens to him repeating the name to make sure she doesn't horribly butcher it.] Serrure. I can do that.
[There's a reason the bots tend to stay home in California during the winter. They and cold really don't get along too well.
So it's no surprise to see The Spine bundled in a long dark coat, a thicker set of gloves on his hands and a scarf around his neck. It wasn't his coat with the bright red lining, but it had been easy enough to alter so the ends of the spine jutting up his back had room. He could just stay home where it was warm, but he did like the holidays, and was curious to see what they were like in Mandalus. When he spotted Darcy, packages and bags in hand, he gave her a smile, lifting a hand to tip his hat.]
[Darcy gives The Spine a bright smile when she sees him approaching. Tall. He is a tall, tall robot.
He is...really shiny. He and Rabbit look so different. Of course, there were a few years age difference between Rabbit and The Spine.] Well, howdy, The Spine. How are you enjoying your time in our fair city so far?
And that charming voice would make you Miss Darcy. [He greeted with a widening of his smile.] It's an eventful place, I'll give it that. Keeps me on my toes so much it almost makes it feel like home.
Would you like me to carry some of that for you? [Because he is nothing if not a gentleman to the core.]
Why, yes, it would. [Darcy lifts her hand, working the handles of the bags onto her wrists so she can shake his hand properly.] Is it very exciting at home? House full of robots?
[She laughs at his offer. Well, not at his offer. But the fact that he offered.] You know, for as different as you and Rabbit look, you're similar in several ways. Aside from the robot thing. He helped me carry my bags a couple weeks back.
[Darcy makes a pleased sound at the sight of her boyfriend. She then makes a couple soft grunting sounds and turns to face him, standing on tiptoe to give him a proper kiss. Her heels lower to the ground and she grins like a giant dork.]
I always need your help. [She beams up at Magnus, her breath frosting in the air.] I haven't gotten your present yet, so I don't need to worry about you getting into bags you shouldn't.
[Darcy knows that a little smile is like a big-ass grin on Magnus.] Well, I've gotten most of the presents, but I need stuff to wrap them with. Paper and tape and ribbons and bows and stuff like that. [Darcy rattles off.]
[Dean is headed back towards his car. He has a few bags full of stuff he needed to get -- mostly food, and it's weird that they have home cooked meals more often than not now but there's no need to have crappy microwaved mini-mart junk anymore -- and a few things he's hoarding away for the holidays, though he really ought to ask Sam about Christmas and what they feel like doing this year. Probably just some really bad movie and something pretty normal for dinner, he expects.
Pausing at the sight of Darcy, he almost wants to avoid talking to her, and he half considers it as he takes another couple of steps away.]
[Darcy, just arriving at the grocery store, stops short at the sight of Dean. She feels...weird. Her stomach's in knots and she's not sure how she feels right now. Dean wasn't himself last week. He was a demon. To be fair, Darcy doesn't know much about demons. Mostly that salt will protect you. And iron, she's pretty sure.
But she doesn't know if what he said was true. And she...wants to know. Darcy closes the distance between them, stopping a good three feet away, hands tucked in the pockets of her coat.]
Do demons lie, Dean? [She asks, her tone level, and she hopes that she sounds reasonable and not that she feels like she's gonna cry again if Dean doesn't want to be her friend still.]
[Dean pauses as she cuts him off, keeping him from just escaping, and he wishes he could, because it'd be so much easier that way. He's got a lot of strange friendships but Darcy insists she knows him from another world and he won't ever just accept that, but she's still his friend... or at least he hopes. He wonders when he started caring so much about making friends here anyway.]
Sometimes. Other times they tell the truth if it's gonna cause more trouble. [He shrugs a little, glancing around, feeling exposed when it comes to discussing this publicly.]
[Darcy feels like she's gonna throw up. Stomach churning, feeling a little lightheaded and she's so, so afraid of the next question she's going to ask.]
So, when we spoke last week-- [Darcy pauses, trying to keep her breathing steady and trying her hardest not to tear up.] Was the...other you...telling the truth? [Her chin trembles and her vision goes a little blurry. No, damn it, don't cry, Darcy.]
[Bruce has a basket of his own, and is heading down the baked goods isle when he spots Darcy. Or rather, nearly collides into that cart, with how engrossed he is in looking for the baking power, oops.]
[Darcy lets out a surprised little sound when Bruce nearly runs her cart over.] Oh, no! No, I'm sorry. [Darcy laughs.] It's my fault. I've been standing here looking at flavors and haven't moved my cart somewhere...safer. [She stops then really looks at Bruce.] Oh, it's you! [She says with a wide smile.] I want to thank you, again, for putting up with emotional, hormonal me a few months ago.
In a store, I don't think there really is a safe place for a cart. [There's a laugh of his own as he looks to the items she's in front of, smiling soft.] Can't make up your mind?
[Then a pause, as he shakes his head.] Darcy, right? It was no problem at all, really. Have you been okay since then?
Maybe with the rest of the unused carts? [Darcy suggests with a chuckle.] I...really can't. I'm wanting to go for a Christmas-y flavor feel, but I don't know. Some flavors might not mix well.
Yeah, Darcy. [She nods and chuckles.] Well, I died. So...six of one, half dozen of the other.

I'm not the type to sneak peeks, don't worry. [He is. He will, if you give him half a chance ever.] So, what first?
